TEDxTalks … Ideas About Ideas

March 19, 2012

Love the TEDxTalks. After I ‘Liked’ a few videos of them on Youtube, my home Youtube profile page is topped-off every time I go there with a spate full of newbies. Chock full I tell ya. It’s became this ‘brand’ of sort, for a massive amount of exchange of ideas. They’re done all over the globe, every day — because I see the newest, fresh off the factory line, that have locations from everywhere. Great thing.
Here’s the TEDxTalk defining, mission statement kind of thing:
“In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations).”
Here’s a good one, from Cambridge (ew fancy…nose up with an oxford and sweater vest, ha) by Greg Epstein on ‘Secular Community’, and moral community without religion.
